Feasibility study for network expansion: what to evaluate before the project

The question that every chain should answer before contracting an expansion project is not "what will the store be like", it is "will this address hold the store we need".

A feasibility study exists to answer this before investing in an executive project. This analysis includes, at a minimum: compatibility of the land with the minimum operation program, zoning restrictions and local legislation, structural condition in case of retrofit, infrastructure capacity (energy, water, load) and framing of the intended store format in that market.

Skipping this step does not eliminate the risk, it only transfers it to after money has already been spent on the project. It is cheaper to discover that a piece of land is useless during the study phase than during the construction phase.

A network that expands quickly and smoothly treats viability as a formal step in the process, not as an informal conversation before concluding a contract.
